Leading Lady of Fashion: Meet the Woman Behind Tory Burch

         Meet Tory Burch, the woman behind the preppy-bohemian brand, a billionaire self-made designer and CEO behind the preppy-bohemian womenswear (clothing, accessroies, shoes, lifestyle) brand.

               Designer and businesswoman Tory Burch is a well known and seen fashion face in Washington. She’s a strong supporter of Democratic political candidates and supports female entrepreneurs through her eponymous Tory Burch Foundation.        

      According to Forbes, Designer Tory Burch was told by experts to never "use business and social responsibility in the same sentence" when starting her eponymous Tory Burch Foundation, which provides entrepreneurial support to women through loans, education and mentoring programs.
            
              However, Ms. Burch is not one to take orders and has expanded the efforts of her Foundation. Further proof of her role as a social activist and designer-businesswoman is evidenced by her 2013 line of  handbags that were created as part of a project between the Tory Burch Foundation and There is No Limit Foundation's Association of Women Tie-Dyers from Guinea.
        
             Kudos to Tory Burch for being a leading designer, CEO and social activist and combining her love for design and social activism in super chic fashion items that support a cause, like "The Maddie" tie-dye shoulder bag shown below!
