Activist, Singer, Model, Philanthropist
While most of Hollywood knows her as the resident bad girl, P!nk is internationally known for her philanthropic contributions to a variety of organizations and causes. In 2006, she caused controversy by releasing "Dear Mr. President." Filled with criticism and carefully pointed remarks about former President George W. Bush, P!nk addressed the Iraq War, No Child Left Behind, gay rights, religion, and a lots of other subjects.
Since then, she's been more involved in non-profit and activist organizations to champion for the rights of people and animals. Here are just a few:
1. PETA- an animal rights group
"PETA operates under the simple principle that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment."
2. Take Back the Night- a group to empower women
"Inspiring both women and men to confront a myriad of social ills, including rape, sexual violence, domestic violence, violence against children, and violence against women."
3. UNICEF- United Nations Children's Fund
" to improve children’s lives, providing health care and immunizations, clean water and sanitation, nutrition, education, emergency relief and more."
4. Save the Children- promotes children's rights, provides relief & helps children in developing countries.
"Creating real and lasting change for children in need in the United States and around the world"
5. Keep-A-Breast- Breast Cancer Awareness
"produces art events that increase breast cancer awareness among young people and benefit breast cancer education, prevention and treatment programs"
