Even with all this excitement, one of the more interesting parts of the interview came when Seinfeld asked about being a female in comedy. Seinfeld asked specifically about balancing being feminine with being a comedian, and Fey didn't give him the straightforward answer he was probably expecting. While some may perceive this negatively, I think she made a smart choice. Why must a female comedian always have attention drawn to the fact that she's female? You never read an article about a male comedian addressing the fact that he is a man. Funny is funny, regardless of gender. Fey's work is proof of this, and the way she balances her work with her family should answer any questions of "balancing feminine projections with comedic goals", as Seinfeld states. No disrespect intended to Mr. Seinfeld -- he clearly respect's Tina's work and was simply asking a question that I'm sure she's used to hearing. The way she answered it, however, I find pretty clever. You can watch their whole adventure here. It's funny in a very understated way; it's almost as though you're having coffee with them yourselves. They're very natural and at ease...it's cool to see even our most admired lady celebs like this!
